We designed the Geneva Studio Easel to be what we believe is the best artists' easel available on the market. Our easel is number one in the following:
- maximum leg room
- holds canvases and panels extremely rigid
- tightens canvas when mounted instead of squeezing it
- canvas edge remains completely bare
- maximum range of movement, canvas can be positioned 1 inch from floor
- ease of adjusting canvas/panel height
- quality of hardware, built to last
Watch this video to see it in action: https://youtu.be/3hv2kG0glJA
- Easel will hold canvases up to 62 inches tall. With the available extension it will hold canvases up to 83 inches tall.
We only ship to the lower 48 United States. If you would like to ship elsewhere, you will need to use a US based shipping service. We will ship the easel for free to the shipping service for you.

I bought the Geneva Studio Easel with the extender because I work on some very large paintings...up to 6 feet tall, often on heavy wood panel...and this easel absolutely stands up to the challenge.
After using it with one of those giant panels, I did go back and order the caster wheels. The easel itself felt completely solid, but trying to move the whole setup with a massive wood painting on it was just too heavy for me to feel comfortable. Was it actually going to tip over? Probably not. Was I willing to find out with a 6-foot painting attached? Absolutely not. The casters were the perfect addition.
I chose the walnut stain, and when it arrived, everything was in pristine condition. It is gorgeous. And this may sound ridiculous, but it smelled sooooo good! the unmistakable smell of something that was actually made by hand in a workshop. The craftsmanship is beautiful.
More importantly, you can tell this easel was designed by a deeply experienced working oil painter. There are thoughtful little engineering decisions throughout that make sense once you're actually standing in front of it/interact with it with a painting. It doesn't feel like generic studio furniture designed for artists; it feels like a piece of professional equipment designed by someone who genuinely understands how painters work.
Now I'm moving on to upgrading my studio lighting based on Mark's recommendations online. And Mark, my next vote is for Geneva to sell a ceiling-mounted studio track-lighting system built to your specifications. A complete lighting setup with specs approved by you so I don't have to research every bulb, fixture, CRI, angle, and lumen myself?
Take. My. Money.
Beautiful! Heavier than was expecting. Can’t wait to start a painting. I project and it will be great for that as well! Very proud to own this easel
If you’ve been searching for an easel that finally lets you move your canvas freely without having to readjust everything every time you want to shift it up or down, look no further. The Geneva Studio Easel from Geneva Fine Art Supplies is an absolute masterpiece and the perfect addition to any art studio.
I’ve been painting professionally for over 20 years, and I’ve tried just about every easel out there. A couple of years ago I discovered the Geneva Studio Easel and was blown away by its design, but it wasn’t available at the time. When I saw it was back online recently, I jumped on it immediately—and I’m so glad I did.
The way this easel securely locks your canvas in place is incredibly reliable, yet the height adjustment is smooth and effortless. No more wrestling with clamps or losing your perfect angle. It’s intuitive, rock-solid, and genuinely makes the painting process more fluid and enjoyable. Whether I’m working on large canvases or doing detailed work, it adapts instantly to what I need.
This easel has genuinely taken my workflow to the next level. I love it so much that I can’t imagine going back to anything else. It’s worth every single penny and then some.
Highly, highly recommend. If you’re a serious artist, treat yourself—you won’t regret it! Ed Tandy McGlasson
It’s just a fabulous easel! I received it just in time to start a 40x72 inch commission. Normally, it would have been difficult moving this size canvas up and down but not with this fantastic easel. I can choose to stand or sit while working which is great when putting in long days in the studio.
